1. Who we are

protomated.com is operated by Authority Wit, LLC, doing business as Protomated (“Protomated,” “we,” “us,” “our”), a New Hampshire limited liability company. Contact: [email protected].

2. No attorney-client relationship

We are not your attorney. Visiting this site, subscribing to The Operator’s Edge newsletter, downloading a resource, leaving a comment, completing the AI Readiness Assessment, or booking a call does not create an attorney-client relationship. Nothing on this site is legal advice. If you are an attorney, you remain responsible for your own ethics, confidentiality, and professional obligations when using anything we publish or recommend.

3. Site use

You may use this site for personal and professional informational purposes subject to these terms. You may not:

Use the site in any way that violates applicable law.
Attempt to interfere with the site’s operation, security, or availability.
Scrape, harvest, or bulk-copy content without our written permission.
Misrepresent your identity or affiliation.

4. Service engagements

Our consulting services — Workshops and CLE, the Deep Efficiency Assessment, Done-for-You Build, and Fractional Advisory — are described on the Services page for informational purposes. Pricing ranges and timelines are estimates. A binding engagement requires a separate written statement of work (SOW) or engagement letter signed by both parties.

The SOW will control over anything on the website in the event of a conflict. The SOW will specify scope, deliverables, timeline, fees, payment terms, and the success metric used for the Build Guarantee.

5. The 60-Day Build Guarantee

The 60-Day Build Guarantee applies only to Done-for-You Build engagements and only on the exact terms stated in the signed SOW. This section summarizes how the guarantee works. The SOW controls.

Metric: During the Deep Efficiency Assessment we agree with you on one measurable success metric. Typically hours returned per week, measured from your timekeeping system, or lead response time, measured from intake timestamps. The metric and the baseline are written into the SOW.
Measurement window: The 60 days begin on the production go-live date stated in the SOW. We review the metric with you at day 30 and day 60.
Remedy if we miss the metric: If your build has been in production for 60 days and has not hit the SOW metric, we will either (a) continue working at no additional cost until the metric is hit, or (b) at your election, refund your project fee paid to Protomated, less documented third-party costs we paid on your behalf (software licenses, API usage, paid infrastructure). Election is made by email within 14 days of the day-60 review. You keep everything we built.
Exclusions: The guarantee does not apply if (i) you materially change the scope of the build without a signed change order; (ii) you do not provide required access or data; (iii) the metric cannot be measured due to changes you make to your timekeeping, intake, or data systems after go-live; or (iv) changes in third-party APIs or platforms outside our control materially affect the build and you decline reasonable remediation.
Not a service-level commitment: The guarantee is a fee remedy. It is not an SLA, uptime commitment, or performance warranty. Post-launch support is included for 30 days; ongoing support is available under Fractional Advisory.

6. Intellectual property

Content on this site — articles, templates, checklists, lead magnets, videos, images, and code snippets — is owned by Protomated or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may:

Read, view, and print content for personal or internal professional use.
Use templates and checklists we publish for free within your own practice.
Share links to our content with attribution.

You may not:

Republish, resell, or redistribute our content.
Remove attribution or copyright notices.
Use our trademarks without written permission.

For engagements, deliverables ownership is governed by the SOW. In general, client-specific work product transfers to the client on final payment. Underlying frameworks, libraries, and reusable patterns remain ours.

The Operator’s Edge newsletter is opt-in. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link at the bottom of every email. By subscribing, you consent to receive the newsletter and occasional related emails (for example, new resource announcements). Unsubscribing from marketing emails does not affect transactional emails related to active engagements.

8. Acceptable use

When submitting a form, comment, or inquiry, you agree not to submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, infringing, or that contains malware. We reserve the right to delete any submission that violates these terms and to block users who repeatedly violate them.

9. Disclaimers

The site and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. Your use of the site is at your own risk.

We make no promise that any automation, AI tool, or strategy described on this site is suitable for your practice, your jurisdiction, or your specific client matters. Attorneys are responsible for complying with their own bar’s rules, ABA Opinion 512, and applicable confidentiality obligations when evaluating or adopting anything we publish.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Protomated, its members, employees, and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the site, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim arising from use of the site (excluding engagement work, which is governed by the SOW) shall not exceed $100. For engagement work, liability is limited as stated in the SOW.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Protomated from any claim, damage, or expense (including reasonable attorney fees) arising out of your misuse of the site or your violation of these terms.

12. Governing law and venue

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Hampshire, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws provisions. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the site shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New Hampshire, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. Material changes affecting an active engagement will be handled through the SOW, not through changes to these site terms.
