Demand Letter & Client Correspondence Drafter
Attach your case folder and your firm's own template. Get a first-pass demand letter back in minutes, not an afternoon. It never sets the demand amount and it never sends anything. You're the author of record. Free Claude skill, yours to keep.
Get the template. We’ll email you the download link and a short note on how to deploy it.
How it works
- You attach a case folder and your firm's demand-letter template. Then you say which you want: a demand letter, or a client status update.
- It drafts only from what you attached. Missing a fact? It asks. Where the judgment is yours, it leaves a marked placeholder like [DEMAND AMOUNT: attorney to set].
- You get a clean copy-only block with no branding inside the letter. Revise it as many times as you want. You set the number. You review. You send.
Compliance: assisted draft, always reviewed
This drafts from the input you supply. It never sends or files anything, never invents facts you didn’t provide, and carries a hard-coded “Not legal advice — review before use” disclaimer on every output.
What’s inside
- The /demand-letter skillOne Claude Desktop plugin. Install the zip, attach a case folder, type /demand-letter. No connectors to authorize. No credentials to configure.
- Demand letters in your firm's voiceIt follows your template's structure and phrasing exactly. No template attached? It asks for one. It won't quietly fall back to a generic letter that doesn't read like your firm.
- Plain-English client status updatesWhat's happened. What's next. What the client needs to do. No jargon, no citations, and nothing privileged the client shouldn't see.
- Hard placeholders where judgment is yoursIt never suggests a demand figure or a liability split. Ask it to and it declines. The placeholder stays there for you to fill.
- A ten-case testing guideTen scenarios to run before you trust it with live work. Sparse facts, missing template, requests for a figure. You see exactly where it asks instead of guesses.
✓ Works great when
- You draft near-identical demand letters matter after matter, and you already have a firm template you like
- Clients are asking "where are we?" faster than you can write the update
- You're on Claude for Work, Team, or Enterprise, the plans with a DPA that covers privileged content
✗ What breaks at scale
- You want status updates drafted and queued automatically when a matter's status changes, instead of attaching a folder every time
- You need case facts pulled from your practice-management system rather than assembled into a folder by hand
- You want sent correspondence logged back to the matter, with a record of what went out and when
Frequently asked
What do I need to run this?
Claude Desktop and a qualifying Claude plan. Download the zip from the GitHub releases page and drag it into Claude Desktop’s Extensions panel. About five minutes. No connectors to authorize, no credentials to configure.
Can I use this on my Claude Pro plan?
Not with client information. Consumer plans, meaning claude.ai Personal and Claude Pro, don’t come with a Data Processing Agreement covering privileged content. So don’t attach confidential case files on one. Use Claude for Work, Claude Team or Enterprise, or the Claude API with a signed DPA from Anthropic. Not sure which plan you’re on? Open Claude Desktop and go to Help → About.
Will it tell me what to demand?
No, and that’s deliberate. It never sets a demand amount, apportions liability, or reaches a legal conclusion. Ask it for a figure and it declines. It leaves [DEMAND AMOUNT: attorney to set] in the draft for you. The number is your call, not the draft’s.
Does it send anything on my behalf?
No. It reads only the workspace folder you explicitly attach. It never emails, files, submits, or transmits a letter anywhere. It hands you a copy-ready block with no branding inside it, and you send it yourself. You’re the author of record on every draft.
Will it invent facts to fill a gap?
No. It drafts only from the case folder you attach. If the treatment detail, damages figures, recipient, or claim number aren’t there, it asks you. It won’t write something plausible-sounding instead. The testing guide includes scenarios for confirming this yourself before you use it on live work.
Can you build this into my case system instead?
Yes. The free skill is yours to keep and run as-is. If you want case facts pulled from your practice-management system, status updates queued on matter-status change, and correspondence logged back to the matter, that’s a Build. Typically $5k to $15k over 2 to 3 weeks.
Want the version built for your firm?
Done-for-You Build.
The free skill drafts from a folder you attach, one matter at a time. Want the facts pulled from your case system? Updates drafted the moment a matter's status changes? Everything logged back to the matter? That's a Build. You still review and send every word. We automate the assembly around that step, never the step itself.
What you get
- Case facts pulled from your practice-management system, so nobody assembles a folder by hand
- Client status updates drafted and queued on matter-status change, held for your review
- Your firm's letter and email templates encoded, so every draft comes back in your voice
- Sent correspondence logged back to the matter, with a record of what went out and when
